Welcome to Pick Your Path Stories (“PYPStories,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), an online platform for reading and creating interactive, choose-your-own-adventure style stories and comics. By accessing or using pypstories.com (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms are a practical agreement for our community—not a substitute for advice from your own lawyer. We may update them; continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

1. Who can use the Service

You must be able to form a binding contract in your location.
If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with a parent or guardian’s permission, and only for age-appropriate use.
You are responsible for keeping your account login secure.

2. What PYPStories is

PYPStories lets readers browse, sample, and purchase access to interactive digital stories, and lets creators upload, structure, and publish stories (subject to review and our Content & Acceptable Use Policy). Features may include accounts, credits, full-story purchases, ratings, comments, and creator payouts via third parties such as Stripe.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep it updated.
Usernames and display names must follow our Content Policy (no impersonation, no prohibited language).
You are responsible for activity under your account.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Content Policy.

4. Content standards (summary)

PYPStories is a family-friendly platform. Content should be suitable for a broad audience—comparable to mainstream epic fantasy (e.g. adventure, intrigue, battles, and clean romance), not adult or pornographic material. Full rules are in the Content & Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these Terms.

In short, we do not allow:

Pornography, sexual content, or erotic/smut material
Coarse language, profanity, or crude sexual humor as a feature of the work
Hate, harassment, illegal content, or spam

We do allow age-appropriate violence, conflict, mystery, and non-explicit romance, consistent with all-ages readable adventure fiction.

5. Creators and your stories

You retain ownership of original content you upload, to the extent you own it.
By uploading, you grant PYPStories a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, distribute, and promote your content on the Service (including covers, previews, and listings) so readers can use the platform as intended.
You represent that you have the rights to upload the content and that it does not infringe others’ rights.
Stories may be subject to editorial review before public publish. Approval does not waive our right to remove content later if it violates policy or law.
We may refuse, unpublish, or remove content that violates these Terms or the Content Policy.

6. Purchases, credits, and payouts

Some content or features may require payment (e.g. credit top-ups, full-story purchases).
Payments are processed by third parties such as Stripe. Their terms also apply.
Credits are a prepaid balance for use on the Service; they are not cash, may have rules described in the product UI, and are generally non-transferable.
Creator earnings and payouts (including holding periods, minimums, and platform fees) are described in the product and may change with notice.
Taxes are your responsibility where applicable.
Except where required by law, digital purchases and credit top-ups are generally final once delivered.

7. Acceptable use of the platform

You agree not to:

Break the law or encourage others to do so
Hack, scrape abusively, overload, or disrupt the Service
Bypass payment, access controls, or review workflows
Impersonate PYPStories staff, brands, or other people
Upload malware or attempt unauthorized access to accounts or data
Use the Service to spam, scam, or phish
Violate the Content Policy

8. Intellectual property

The PYPStories name, branding, site design, and software are ours or our licensors’. You may not copy the platform or brand in a way that confuses users. Respect other creators’ work—no unauthorized reposting of others’ comics or text.

9. Copyright complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, contact us via the site Contact us form with: your contact info, description of the work, URL or location of the material, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized. We may remove material and, where appropriate, suspend repeat infringers.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Stories are created by users; we do not endorse every opinion or plot, only that published works must meet our policies.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, PYPStories and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) USD $50, if no fees were paid.

12. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold harmless PYPStories from claims arising out of your content, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or others’ rights.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, the Content Policy, or create risk for the platform or other users. Sections that should survive (e.g. licenses already granted for distribution during the period content was live, liability limits, indemnity) continue after termination.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer laws in your country require otherwise. Courts in Georgia shall have jurisdiction, subject to applicable consumer protections.
